December 8, 2001

  1. General Statement:
  2. All expenses incurred during the year by individuals will need to be turned in for reimbursement. Expenses will not be prepaid.

    Awards

    A recommendation was made to waive all competition fees for state meet host gyms. This money would help offset the cost of awards for the host gym. The recommendation would take effect in the 2001-2002 season.

    Letters will be sent out to gym clubs and businesses associated with gymnastics asking for donations to the apparel and award fund.

  3. Judging clarifications:
  4. What if a judge signs up for three meets in order to meet the requirements for State Meet judging assignment, and one of hte meets is cancelled; can they still judge at state? Yes, the cancelled meet was out of their control.

    Does the GGCA State Clinic qualify for 3-hours of gym experience? Yes, but only at the compulsory level.

  5. New Vault
  6. The Jr. Olymoic Committee passed with the approval of President Bob Colarossi, a recommendation to introduce the new vault this year. All Optional State, Regional and National meets must have both the old and new vault available for competition. Level 9 and 10 may use the new vault; Level 8 may not use the new vault until Jan. 2003. Compulsory levels must use the new vault table starting Jan. 2003. A motion was made to have a State Clinic for judges and coaches in the summer of 2002. Included in the clinic will be a special vaulting session designated to teaching the use of the new vault.

  7. Website:
  8. Volunteers are needed to help track the information that will be placed on the website. It is recommended that Peggy Simpson set the criteria for the website. Brock White will explore other websites and then make recommendations to Peggy.

  9. Achievement Ribbons:
  10. Not all meet directors are handing out achievement ribbons to Level 4 and 5 gymnasts at their meets. Please review Rules and Policies and have achievement ribbons distributed at all meets.

  11. Team finals:
  12. Some clubs have shown an interest in having small team and large team state competitions. A motion was made to have the state representative for Levels 5 & 6 poll all teams in the state regarding small team large team competition and make recommendations to the State Board.
