Georgia USAG Board Meeting

Peggy Simpson, Georgia Chair, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Guest: Dana Kling, GA-NAWGJ Judges Training Chair, asked Board members for ideas to present at summer 2007’s Georgia State Clinic. He solicited state-wide participation and will send the Board questionnaires for content and clinicians.

  1. State Meet Judges – Jean DeArmon, GA-NAWGJ State Judging Director, presented the list of judges for each GA-USAG State meet. A Board member was also selected to oversee the draw at each state meet:

  2. Confidentiality Forms will be signed by each Board member and re-turned to Peggy Simpson, State Chair, by the next Board meeting..
  3. TOPS – Judy Miller – Next testing 9/22-24 - Eight gymnasts from Georgia qualified for the National TOPS testing to be held in Houston,Texas on Sep. 22-24. They were from:
    • Ga. All Stars - 1
    • Gwinnett Gymnastics Center - 3
    • Georgia Gymnastics Academy - 2
    • Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta – 2
    They will each be provided with a warm-up leotard purchased by Ga. USAG
  4. Apparel – Judy Miller reported that on the 8-9-10 state leo order form will be a space for gymnasts to decide where dollars should be sent for help and relief. Last year, Georgia sent $5,000 to Hurricane Katrina Relief
  5. There will be a 2007 National Compulsory Championship November 10-12 in Walt Disney World, Florida. Our Board will decide how our state will participate with a possibility of qualifying through the 2007 Judges 500 Meet.
  6. A new Meet Directors Packet was provided by Peggy Simpson, State Chair. Several Board members were asked to proof before distribution.

Event Finals for Level 7:

Our next meeting will be at Level 6 State held at Gymnastix in Buford between the last session and the team session
