Georgia USAG Board Meeting
Friday, September 9, 2003 - Roswell Rec Center

Absent: (Voting Members) Chris Calvert, Bobby Allen, Dennis Hayden, Debbie Roe
Present: (Non-Voting Members) Marian Dykes, Jean DeArmon
Meeting called to order by Peggy Simpson, Chair, at 8:00 p.m. The meeting followed the Agenda as set by Chair, Peggy Simpson.
- Jean DeArmon, Georgia State Judging Director, presented the USA State Meet panels for discussion and confirmation.
- Motion to accept Level 2/6 State Meet judges as presented Michelle Pomerantz, 2nd Becky Oppenheimer - PASSED
- Motion to accept Level 5 State Meet judges as presented Judy Miller, 2nd Drew Davis – PASSED
- Motion to accept Level 3 and 4 State Meet judges as presented Sheila Ragle, 2nd Sennie Clark – PASSED
- Motion to accept Level 7 State Meet judges as presented Michele Pomerantz, 2nd Sheila Ragle – PASSED
- Motion to accept Level 8/9/10 State Meet judges as presented Judy Miller, 2nd Sennie Clark – PASSED
- Kim Joye will no longer be the Score Chair for the Georgia USA Board – Peggy Simpson will find someone to assume this position.
- There is a Region 8 Fund for victims of Hurricane Katrina which gives all proceeds to those who need them without administrative costs. There is a place to donate on the Region 8 website.
Due to the overwhelming need of clubs in the affected areas, the Georgia USAG Board will donate $5,000 currently in the apparel fund.
Judy Miller moved to give Level 9/10 Regional athletes the warm-up leo and Level 8 Regional Team members a competitive leo, warm up leo and warm up suit. Michelle Pomerantz 2nd this motion - PASSED.
- Senior Recognition – Sennie Clark will chair this endeavor with the help of Cynthia Davis – Peggy Simpson will determine the numbers first.
- TG Hawkins (Mississippi) has been hired to provide the Georgia USAG Board with a new website. He is working with Ceal Wutka, past webmistress, in this endeavor.
- 9 athletes from Georgia made the TOPS national team – 3 from GGA – Lawrenceville, 3 from Gymnastics Academy of Georgia, 1 from American Elite and 2 from Gwinnett Gymnastics Center
Also presented was an alphabetical list of alternate judges for each state meet.
The next meeting will be during the Level 6 State Meet at Roswell Rec
