Georgia USAG Board Meeting

Present: Peggy Simpson, Brock White, Drew Davis, Bobby Allen, Judy Miller, Michelle Pomerantz, Chris Calvert, Sennie Clark.
Absent: Dennis Hayden, Becky Oppenheimer, Debbie Brown
Guests: Marian Dykes, Jackie Estes

Peggy Simpson, Georgia Chair, called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.

State Meets: The following gyms were awarded 2006/2007 State Meets

Compulsory State Meet Qualifying Score for 2006 will be 32.00 AA (Michelle Pomerantz motioned, Judy Miller 2nd, passed)

State Meet Qualifying for all levels will be one week prior to the state meet. Gate fees at state meets will remain the same as for 2005/2006. Entry Fees for state meets will remain the same as 2005/2006.

Compulsory Team Finals: There will be no finals competition at Level 2 or 3.

Compulsory Team Finals for Level 4, 5 and 6:
Top 8 teams qualify (Bobby Allen motioned, Judy Miller 2nd passed) Warm up 5, compete 5, count 4 scores for team (Michelle Pomerantz motioned, Judy Miller 2nd – passed) Injury substitution – gymnast will get 1 minute warmup before her team competes)
Event Finals for Level 7:
There will be event finals at Level 7 (Judy Miller motioned, Drew Davis 2nd, passed) Michelle Pomerantz, our Level 7 Representative, will take a poll of gyms to see about Level 7 event finals procedures.
Apparel:
Level 8 qualifiers - warmup leotard
Level 8 team - warmup suit, long-sleeved competition leotard
Level 9/10 – warmup leotard

Money saved from giving all levels the same amount of gym wear will be donated to charities as designated by the athletes

TOPS:
Judy Miller, TOPS Representative, said there are all new pro-cedures for this level; there will be two TOPS testings held 6/17 at GGA-Lawrenceville and 7/15 at GAA. Rules for TOPS can be found on the USAG website.
Calendar:
Brock White will have the final printed calendar to Peggy Simpson on June 19, 2006 to be included in the summer GA-USA newsletter.
Competition Fees:
Fees will remain the same; Peggy Simpson will name a new Score Chair (Kim Joye has retired from the GA-USAG Board)
State Clinic:
There will be a state clinic July 22-23, 2007 at Roswell Rec. The cost will be $75.00; clinic held by the GA-NAWGJ Judges Trainer, Dana Kling.
2007/2008 State Meets:
The GA-USAG Board will consider hosting the compulsory state meets at one location. using clubs’ Booster Clubs to sponsor different levels.

The next meeting will be September 9, 2006 at Roswell Rec Center at 6:00 – dinner will be provided.
