GA. USA GYMNASTICS BOARD MEETING
MARCH 7, 2000

Meeting called to order by Jackie Estes at 7:20 PM.

  1. ROLL CALL: Sheila Ragle, Susan Durning, Judy Prestigiacomo, Peggy Simpson, Becky Oppenheimer, Tom Cook, Michelle Pomerant, Kim Joye, Brock White. Absent: Wynne Hernandez, Marilyn Bishop, Chris Calvert, Jay Clark

  2. PRESENTATION FROM FASTSTATS.COM

    3. Bob Westfall from Faststats.com made a presentation recommending that the state of Ga. use their web site to post statistics about our state's gymnastics. A test site has been developed using Roswell Gymnastics. The web site is Gymnasticstats.com and then click on Roswell Gymnastics. This web site has a page for each gymnast with statistics about that gymnast including scores from meets throughout the year. This site can be used for posting the state scores and for comparisons throughout the state (i.e. gymnasts in an age group, college app., etc.) A motion was made to have Gymnastistat.com keep a record of all the scoring in the state.

  3. STATE CHAIRMAN ELECTIONS:

    4. Nominations came out in the Regional newsletter for State Chairman. Kim Joye and Adam Adams have been submitted for State Chairman. Look in your State Newsletter for voting forms.

  4. COMPULSORY STATE MEET DATES

    5. Level 4/6 State Meet December 1-3, 2000.
    Level 5 State Meet December 8-10, 2000
    Team Finals for Level 5 and 6 only. Level 4 will have team awards following the last session.
    Level 8,9 & 10 State Meet March 30-31and April 1.

    DEADLINE FOR BIDS ON ALL STATE MEETS IS MONDAY, MAY 15TH. YOU MUST SUBMIT AN INNVITATION WITH YOUR BID FORM.

  5. IMPORTANT DATES

    6. Judge's and Coaches Clinic - July 14-16th at Roswell Gymnastics
    Mini Congress - June 8-10th in Florida
    Level 8 Training Camp - July 21-23 West Palm Beach, Fla.
    Level 9 & 10 Training Camp _ Oct. 20-22 Gwinnett
    National Judges Cup - Jan. 5-7th at Roswell Gymnastics - USA Level 4 - Open
    GGCA Training Camp August 25-27th at Roswell Gymnastics - USA 4-10 and AAU Level 2- Prep Opt.
    Georgia Games - July 23rd
    Nominations for the USA Gymnastics Board will go out in April.

  6. REGIONAL APPAREL

    7. The apparel for Regional meets this 2000 season will be as follows:
    All gymnasts that qualify to Regionals will get a warm up leotard tank and a T-shirt. The leotard will be blue on the bottom and a silver millennium fabric on top, Georgia will be written on the hip. The T-shirt will have Georgia 2000 on the back. The Level 8 Regional Team will also get a Long Sleeve leotard for competition.

  7. GA USA GYMNASTICS FINANCES

    8. A motion to change the percentages of the Apparel and General funds was discussed. A motion was made to change the percentages from 30% in the General Fund and 70% in the Apparel Fund to 40% in the General Fund and 60% in the Apparel Fund.

    There has been a problem collecting the Head Tax from meets this season. A motion to not allow those gyms that have not paid their head taxes on time may not put their meets on the schedule the 2000-2001 season.
