Georgia USAG Board Meeting
Wednesday, February 25, 2003
Roll Call:Peggy Simpson, Sheila Ragle, Susan Durning, Jean DeArmon, Judy Prestigiacomo, Michelle Pomerantz, Becky Oppenheimer, Sennie Clark, Wynne Hernandez.
ABSENT: Jay Clark, Dennis Hayden, Brock White, Chris Calvert, Kim Joye, Debbie Roe
Regional Apparel: There was a discussion on the amount of money in the apparel fund for this year. At this time there is $10,000 in the apparel fund. The following apparel has been approved:
- Level 8 warm up suit
- Level 8 Team competitive leotard
- Warm up leotard for level 8-10 regional qualifiers
- Coaches shirts - a request by the board to have all coaches wear this shirt at the Level 8 Team competition and for all Georgia coaches to wear the shirt to at least one session of regional competition.
- Offer all regional qualifiers soffee short and jacket to be purchased by athlete at the state meet.
2003 Senior Forms: Senior forms were placed in the entry packet - all those with graduating senior must turn in the form to Susan Durning at Roswell Gymnastics by March 3, 2003.
Level 8, 9, & 10 State: Competition order - Level 8 competitors will compete on Saturday, March 15 and Level 9 & 10 competitors will compete on Sunday March 16.
Level 7 State: A request was received by the State Chairman to change the meet format of Level 7 State to Capitol Cup format. The present format is Traditional. A discussion about the financial burden resulted in the following motion and vote:
Motion: Sennie Clark - recommendation to change the format of Level 7 State from traditional to capitol cup format.
Second: Wynne Hernandez
Vote: denied: 2-for, 5-against
Nominations: Nomination forms will be in the next Georgia USA Gymnastics Newsletter. All nominations must be in by the deadline and those that are nominated for level representatives must have working knowledge of that level.
Bid Forms: Bid forms for all USA State Meets and invitational meets will be in the March Newsletter. AAU will send out all AAU bid forms separately.
